Dhurries have a long and varied history in India. Their function has ranged from humble dowery bedrugs, woven by young country women, to the great palace carpets executed by master weavers. Weaving workshops were frequently established in the prisons of India and Afghanistan.

THE RUG LOFT dhurry collection consists of old and new rugs. Most of our old dhurries date to the early 20th century, with some rare pieces from the late 1800s.

FULL CUSTOM SERVICE is offered to complement the stock of ready made dhurries. We specialize in producing copies of existing rugs, as well as rugs of original design.
